Check if your monitor's power cable is in good shape and inserted firmly at both ends.

Just bought an NEC plasma monitor PX-42VP2G but does not know how to use it, is it just a desktop monitor or can it be also used as a TV?

This is the user manual for your tv
So no, it's just a monitor, but you can attach a separated tuner to it.

When I awaken my NEC LCD 1720M the monitor green light just blinks for awhile before the picture finally comes on.

hi, try downloading and reinstalling the drivers, and also the manual for possible clues as to what's at fault.

NEC Monitor turns off

Look at your power saving settings. It appears you have your computer monitor to go to sleep. I would change it to never sleep

My nec 1760v monitor goes into sleep mode while i am using it and the only way to get it out is to turn it off and then on.

In Windows, right click any empty space on the desktop> Properties >Screensaver>Power

Check settings \to TURN OFF your monitor in some time.. see if setting this OFF works.

Monitor flickers, color turns pink

This has happened to me before, seems when AVG is running is when it is noticable. After playing with the settings and doing a lot of googling and reading, my fix this time was to update the driver for the NEC monitor. It's working great for now.

My NEC Versa E6000 monitor is so dim it is impossible to see. I have had to use an external monitor. The brightness control (Fn-F9)does not appear to work - is there anything use I might try?

It is likely your monitor's backlight has gone out. On LCD monitors like the one in your laptop, the Liquid Crystals can only be seen clearly when excited by light. This is not a user-servicable part and typically requires replacing the entire LCD monitor. I would recommend a new PC because of the high cost of replacing this part. Or, continue using an external monitor.

Hello there !
First things Frist:
1) Test the switching on keyboard for external monitor and see if work, or you disable the laptop monitor.
2) install the driver for select external monitor. depending the video card, you may have 2 display panels, to select, on that driver. NVIDIA or RADEON
