The "U" at the end of the model number

What is the significance of the "U" at the end of the model number? Example: is there a difference from the models GRDVL510 to GRDVL510U?

Re: The "U" at the end of the model number

The "U" at the end of the model number stands for a product designed for sale and use in the United States. There will be some listings that will not show the "U". If this product is for sale in the United States, it is safe to presume that these are the identical products. Note: that any other suffix (such as "E" for example ) on a "Consumer Camera" sold in the United States is considered "Gray Market," and is not covered by regular JVC warranty in the United States.

I want a user manual for my digimax d103. I have all sorts of sites and blogs, and they are ALL dead ends. HELP!

Hello Paul. I ran into another situation. Where I needed help with my samsung digital camera. Iit stopped sending pictures to my computer. I went to www.ask.com or Google. I typed in the name of my camera. It led me to the actual makers of the camera. Typically, they will have a help center that can assist in getting you need. Sometimes, I will type in for example, "Digimax d103 Schematics?" it will bring up a host of infomative sites. Beware of Forums though. Sometimes, intuition can pay off better than no information. Use the actual box your camera came in to extract make, model, and serial number to access the information you are looking for. Hope it works out for you. Oh! and remember, it may be HOW you say it, as to WHAT you say, that makes a big difference when trying to target what you need to aid you.

How can I download an operating manual for Panasonic Limix DMC-TZ20?

Go to the Panasonic web site, click on support and enter your model. If your camera comes in colors, you'll need to add the corresponding letter at the end of the model number. For example, Lumix DMC-TZ20A, with "A" standing for blue.

How do i switch to video?

On the back of the camera, at the top-right corner, there is a multi-function button. The center of it has an icon that looks like a video camera. Press that button.
See pp 59 of http://support.casio.com/pdf/001/EXFH100_M29_FB_100311_E.pdf for an example (you might need a slightly different manual - You didn't give the model number of the camera).

Lumix DMC-FX8EG. My manual is in German; need English version

This manual is in English for the FX8PP but I think that it's the same model. Minor differences in model numbering occur for different sales territories to try and control "grey" imports.

If you find that they're significantly different then please let me know and I'll try again, otherwise I'd appreciate it if you could rate my answer.

I have a new Lumix DMC-FS11 How can I rotate video footage 90 degrees so it plays the right way when down loaded ?? Thanks

You can't. Not without special software and a *really* powerful computer. Rotating a video takes an enormous amount of number crunching and processing time and even then you'll suffer a very significant loss of quality.

Sorry this is not the answer you hoped for, but rotating a single still image is one matter and a video is a different ball game altogether.

Need replacement of direct interface cable - canon a-560 powersho

The required cable uses standard USB connectors. USB A male on one end and USB Mini-B 5 pin male on the other end. There are any number of sources to purchase one, here is an example.

The CD is 'Software" You can download it at the Vivitar website. The 'hardware' would be the camera and the cables.

My camera is with me and my software is in storage in Georgia.

Not sure about the software, but the drivers are available here: (no charge, just a thank you!)
To get the drivers, determine which model of the 3315 you have (either C or S)
Check the serial number on the bottom label of your V3315 camera. If the serial number ends with a "C" - you have the C model. (Example: DD004139C) If the serial number ends with an "S" - you have the S model.
Then download one of the following: C Driver
S Driver

Please note, that in order to retrieve photos off the camera, you should not need the above drivers. (in windows ME/2000/XP/Vista/2008/w7)
Please let us know if the above does not suit.
All the best Gish

Optical zoom

Hey needacamera,
The range of an optical zoom lens refers to how wide angle to telephoto the lens covers. An example of a 6x optical zoom would be an 18mm-108mm lens, which covers wide angle to telephoto. An example of a 3x zoom lens would be an 18mm-54mm lens, which would provide a capability of capturing images from wide angle to normal views. To calculate the x factor of an optical zoom you would divide the largest number by the smallest number on your zoom. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Delay in picture taking

Melzim, another user, is exactly right. The lower-end digital cameras experience a significant shutter delay when using the camera; it's an unfortunate fact.
What you can do, outside of investing in a newer model (which do have improvements over the earlier models) is simply try to anticipate your subject's movement - or concentrate on portraiture, etc.
There is a huge value, over time, in having pictures of smiling families, standing still, believe it or not.
The A85 is simply not the camera to use to freeze action.
