Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

4 Answers

Hi, I have a blu ray DVD player in conjuction with a samsung 7.1 home theatre system.. Whenever i put on a normal DVD for at least the first 5 minutes the audio drops out consistanly..it doesn't do it much after that but occasionally throughout the film it will do it again. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

  • varveri77 Sep 03, 2008

Sorry, by normal i mean a non blu ray dvd

  • varveri77 Sep 03, 2008

Thanks very much, i didn't realise it would so serious as to be an internal hardware issue..thought it may have had something to do with configuration or set up.

Will try for the exchange as it is most definately still under warranty.

    With Kind Regards,
    Joe

Your player is still under factory warranty I would defintely replace it. It may be even soon enough to return it and exchange it for a different model where you purchased it from. Those are your best options. If you need any further assistance let me know. If you have a moment to accept and rate the solution accordingly I would greatly appreciate it. If you still need assistance please don't reject my help.
Thanks,
Lee

This is going to be an internal hardware problem. Since this is only a month old, I suggest you take it back for an exchange. The store shouldn't have any problems with an exchange.

have you checked to see that your audio set up on your dvd player is not in conflict with your audio set up for your home theater system?

there is no reason to have to replace it i believe it's a configuration problemand it's amtter of just adjusting it accordingly

Check all the cables connection from the player to the tv. after cleaning the lens try a disk which has worked fine in the past.

How to play blue ray dvd on the LG HT554

Unless it is specified as being able to play Blu-Ray discs, it cannot do so, and there are no 'hacks' to enable this function as the HT 554 is a DVD player/home theatre system. You would require a Blu-Ray player to play both types of disc.

My home theatre system (sAmsung DVD home theatre system HT-Tx75)shuts down automatically after 10 minutes of listening to the radio...it says 'protection', then shuts off. i checked to see if it was on...

Hello,
Protection mode on a Samsung player most likely means that the unit is overheating due to a non or low functioning fan. Before taking it somewhere to be serviced turn the unit on and see if the fan in the back is functioning (it should be on whenever the unit is on). If it is not you can try gently blowing it out with a can of compressed air.
I am sure that you can have it serviced but it might be cheaper to purchase a new player.
Good luck and take Care,
-WN
