It's possible that a motor has died, or the tray has come off it's runners. Because of the replacement price of these parts, it's often cheaper to just put a new drive in, than it is to get the old one repaired.
If your confident at taking it apart, then you can look to see if there is a physical problem, but because it's a class 1 laser device, then I really wouldn't recommend you opening it up.
