. You probably have too many time delays in your system and check the timer set points. sometime some thermostat has a time delay and the unit itself has a circuit board time delay.

I would bet the outside units contactor is bad. This is the device where the two thermostat wire connect outside. If this is pulling in/out as you turn the stat on/off then it is working. I just fixed one yesterday with the same symptoms and found the start capacitors were bad. If they are bulged at the top or bottom then they are bad. Good luck.

When in cooling compresor will not re start unless you are at thermorstat, move control to heat and back to cooling

moving the stat from heat to cool etc resents a fault in the control board of the inside unit or outside. Usually a high or low pressure problem

When i turn the a/c on the inside furnace motor runs but the outside compressor units does not. the compressor is a janitrol, about 20 years old

Does the outdoor fan run? If not then start by checking for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. If you have power then check the capacitor. If that is good then check your contactor for the fan and compressor. If that is good then check the compressor motor windings. Let me know if you have any questions.

Fan running but dont hear comp. turning on

First check for burned wires in all the componnents in the condensing unit ,also the compresor terminals ,if they're all ok and if you know how and have a tester check the compresor if is not burned or grounded. After that you can replace the capacitor (is no more than $20) and if still won't start it means the compresor is either burned or stock. You can also try to put a start booster in parallel with the capacitor ,sometimes it helps it to start.

Ruud 10 compressor not working

First make sure there's power to the unit outside , if yes set the theermostat on cold ,auto and to the lowest degrees ,then look the outside unit contactor, it should be pulled in (sometimes it takes to 5 minutes beacause a time delay) , if not the problem is in the thermostat , but if yes and there's power on the other side of the contactor ,either the compresor running capacitor is bad or the compresor itself went bad .Try replacing the capacitor first (the cheaper option) and adding a startting booster in paralel with the capacitor ,if still the compresor doesn't start you nedd to replaced it.All this counting that the fan in the outside unit works ,if doesn't replaced it.

After cleaning blower on the furance outside unit will not start.

If you took the door off of the squirrel cage fan for a while the freon gets so cold the compressor cannot pump it. I will trip the outside breaker. Just let me know if during the process did wiring get moved around. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Weather king model 10AJA4201

Unit is over heating and setting the internal limit switch. Capacitor an/or outdoor fan could be failing.

Fan not blowing

Even when the power is off at the unit outside the thermostat will supply power to the contactor of the outside unit. This may give a hum or buzz as you stated. If when the power is on to the outside unit the fan tries to start but only hums the motor may be bad. Does the compressor start and run?
