Flame on main hob of range master 110 is yellow and smelly also black sooty deposit left on jets

Ream out all the orifices and air venturi holes on the burner, adjust the air-ahutter, the air-shutter is usually nearer the valve/knob than to the burner. Yellow flame is an imbalance of fuel to oxygen and is creating Carbon Monoxide and not burning cleanly... this is the same problem that can make a furnace deadly. Blue flame=neutral flame.

I have a Gibson gas furnace model gl1ra072c12a, the middle two burners flame are blue both end burners are yellow . All were cleaned. as well as jets what could be the problem?

If the flames are yellow AND lazy, not acting like the two blue flames are, the problem sounds like excess carbon build up within the heat exchanger ABOVE the two yellow burning burners. If that is the case, the yellow burning flames are contributing additionally to the carbon already in there. Eventually, the lazy flames will roll out into the furnace vistibule and possibly burn wiring creating a major problem. There are looooong wire handled bristle brushes 30" long that must be used to thoroughly clean the heat exchanger after the burners have been removed. A shop vac will help greatly in reducing the nasty carbon mess.

Usually, the vent collector hood and flue is removed to brush down from the top and up from the bottom alternately. If there are air shutters on the burners, make sure they haven't been throttled too far down limiting the combustion air causing the original problem.

You need a certified HVAC service tech to look at this issue.

Left burner produces a normal blue flame, but the right burner produces a big yellow flame - how can I fix this?

Hi inomura...
Look at the left burner, pipe, air hole adjustment, etc because it is operating good.
You will see a difference to it compared to the on the right.
The right pipe, air hole, or the length the pipe that are iserted in the gas control valve is different from the left.
The yellow flame indicates that not enough air is getting to the flame getting to the right flame ignition point.
The left flame is nice and blue...normal, the right is yellow indicating that not enough air is getting to the flame ignition point...look to see if the air hole adjustment is different than the one on the left...there is something open more or less, improperly adjusted.
Once you have it adjusted properly the right flame will burn bright blue just as it does on the left.

The burner comes on but goes out after 2 seconds

Your flame sensor may need cleaning. It is a sensor located in the flame of a burner far right or far left in the burner box. Use a tooth brush or scotch brite pad. Do not attempt to clean the igniter as it will break.

Hi, I have a ruud silhouette II furnace. The ignitor clicks on and the flame shoots out but then clicks off after a few seconds. Is that an ignitor problem?

Sounds like a flame rod issue or the flame is not getting to it in time. The flame rod is located either far right or far left in the burner box and has only one wire going to it. It should be in line with the flame on a burner. The computer allows only a second or two for the all burners to lite and to get to the flame rod. Check the flame travel from burner to burner. You may have to clean the burners, the flame tray to each burner and the flame rod. Also check any electrical connection at the flame rod, circuit board and the grounds to the furnace cabinet.

Gas Grill Burners with yellow flames coming from beneath them

the flames should be blue and the burners clean. check gas pressure and the air mixture dampers. touch air will give you the same effect. if the burners are clean, it is the mixture. as far as the slots in the bottom. i have not seen that. but i work on commercial ranges.

Low flame signal

There is a small probe that is located inside the firebox and the flame from the burners will touch it. Typically it is located to either the far left or far right of the fire box if it is a vertical furnace. if the flame is not touching it or if it is taking the flame too long to travel across the burners (right to left or left to right) you will get this error code. Find the sensor and clean it with a small wire brush. Make sure what you think is the flame sensor is the flame sensor because the ignitor is very brittle and has two wires going to it. The flame sensor will have only one wire going to it. Also since you have the burner compartment open, inspect the flame spreader tray for blockage not allowing the flame to spread quickly. A can of air and the small wire brush will aide you in this cleaning.

Good luck to you!
