I purchased a new battery with the tools to replace the old battery. It is a piece of cake. I think I paid $ 15 for the battery/tools and that was shipped to my home. If you're still in need of help. Let me know.

Been there. If the unit will not reset with the hole in the back poke you need to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Use a small torx screw driver for the four screws in the corners. Gently split the back case off by the thumbwheel and pivot it around. the battery connector is a small white connector in the lower left hand corner. Be careful of the power switch, ir lamp cover, and plug gasket since when you open the case they sometimes make a break for freedom.
Battery costs about $14 from nany eBay stores. search for "ique 3600 battery" It is replaceable but be careful of the switch on the side when you remove the case. See: http://www.viewdo.com/now_viewing.php?id=205
Even new, the battery is a 3600 sore spot.
If it has been left uncharged for two years, it is probably garbage.
I got a new and improved one for mine for about 30 bucks.
Try BraunOni, Eruope, I think, but the service was great.
May be a hardware issue. I had similar behavior when I replaced my IQue 3600's battery. If the circuitboard inside wasn't seated properly on the contacts coming from the battery, the iQue would keep rebooting.
Start by checking that all the external screws are snug (but not over-tight). If not, you can try to open the case to check the two screws inside holding the circuit board. But I'll leave that up to you, since I can't honestly guarantee that you're experiencing the same problem. (After all, you seem to be sure that it has something to do with the software...and you may be right.)
