Packard Bell Easynote R1000 touchpad!!!

I have a packard bell easynote r1000 laptop running on xp
its brilliant except for not displaying some games properly, which is irritating as they cant be returned anymore, the shops are weird about it
so i was wondering if there are chipset upgrades, updates available or something to fix that?

my main problem though is teh touchpad, the computer is free of any spyware, viruses and adware as it was recently restarted to fix teh touchpad, which it didnt.
when i use the laptop sometimes the mouse cursor freezes and wont budge, everythin else carries on but the mouse and the left/right click stop working until i restart.

any ideas whats causing it and how to fix it?
any feedback is appreciated

No because i would rather not carry a mouse around all of the time, if no1 can fix it then ill have to get one
i just cant believe they would sell defective laptops or give updates that actually damage them

any way to fix the problem rather than ignore it?

Disable touchpad

Hi
look for a FN + some key (F3-F12) combination to turn the touch pad off, there can also be a button next to the power button to switch touchpad on and off.
You can also try to disable it using windows itself by right clicking the touchpad software (by the system clock )and in it's settings look for an option to deactivate the internal touchpad.
Hope this helps.

could be malware infection but before, open and check that touchpad to motherboard interface flex is ok and well plugged in the socket. also uninstall all touchpad drivers, run a malware removal tool then, scan for new hardware..
