Question about HP iPAQ H5550 Pocket PC
Hi there I am receiving the same error message related to the fingerprint reader as other forum memebers have encountered. The iPaq is brand new... original training worked fine. Then after a week or two the problem arose "Failed to start background reading (status=5, error=-102, retCode=0). Perform a normal reset and try again" Repeated soft resets have little effect. The "fix" suggested on the forum related to the bioswipe file and removal of fingerprint and re-enrol has been tried. However the problem now arises when attempting to "re-train/enrol" the fingerprints.

After a number of soft resets the problem seems to go away.... for no apparent reason. However the problem then reappears for no apparent reason.
