Re: Installation of JVC USB driver

The JVC USB driver was written before introduction of the Windows XP system. This warning is displayed with other manufacturer’s digital cameras, also, and is not strictly a JVC phenomenon. In order to use the USB interface between the camera and your computer, select the “CONTINUE anyway” option provided in this warning display. To JVC’s knowledge, there are no negative effects to using JVC driver with Windows XP.

Windows doesn's recognize camera, device manager says no driver

Hi -

Have you tried another USB port? Sometimes, they can act goofy.
Also be sure your anti-virus isn't blocking any part of the installation.

Here is a link to the Samsung troubleshooting guide for your camera.
You can probably download the most recent driver from that website as well.
Perhaps they have a better or newer version than what came prepackaged
with the camera (just because a camera is a new purchase does not mean
the software it came with is the most updated).

I run WinXP home edition, so I am not familiar if there are any differences in the professional version regarding software installation....

Good luck!

Installation conflict with Windows Logo Testing

IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THIS SOFTWARE ON A COMPUTER RUNNING XP AND IT WORKED WELL AND YOU FEEL CONFIDENT WITH THE SOFTWARE, I WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS SCARE TACTIC YOU ARE GETTING ON THIS NEW COMPUTER. IS THIS NEW COMPUTER RUNNING XP,SP2 AND THE OTHER ONE RUNNING JUST XP OR XP,SP1? THIS MIGHT BE WHY YOU ARE GETTING THIS SCARE SCREEN. IF THIS SOFTWARE HAS BEEN WORKING ON A MACHINE WITH XP, IT WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON XP.THE LOGO TESTING AND VALIDATION PROGRAM WERE MADE TO STOP PIRATE SOFTWARE. IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THIS IS THE CASE HERE. SOME OF THIS LOGO TESTING HAD A LOT TO DO WITH GETTING UPDATED SOFTWARE TO WORK WITH NEWER VERSIONS OF XP AND VISTA. LIKE I SAID IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR PROGRAM I WOULD NOT FEAR THE WARNING AND INSTALL YOUR PROGRAM AND WHEN YOU DO, JUST CHECK FOR ANY UPDATES TO YOUR SOFTWARE.

I have plugged in my JVC GZ-MG505AA camcorder into usb on win xp and get an unrecognised usb device message; it appears I need a driver but am unable to find one

Did you receive an installation cd with this item? If so try installing it from there, or have windows search for the drivers off the disk when it comes up with the unrecognized device. An easy way to check the drivers is to right click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager. You SHOULD see an item with a bright yellow ! next to it. You can double click the item to bring up properties for it, or right click it to get a few options. Either way you can update the driver from the disk from there. Hope this helps.

I can't install software or USB drivers in Windows 2000 or Windows NT.

If you see an error message or the software doesn't install correctly, you may not have software installation privileges. Contact your System Administrator. In Windows 2000, do not select Block under Control Panel > System > Hardware > Driver Signing, or your driver installation will not be completed. Select Ignore or Warn instead. In Windows 2000, if you see a "Digital Signature Not Found" screen, click Yes to continue with the installation. If you select No, your camera's USB installation won't be completed.

My Fujifilm digital camera is connected to my computer, but the removable disk does not appear when I open "My Computer" in Windows. I have a FinePix camera and have installed the software.

If the removable disk does not appear when you open "My Computer" in Windows, it is possible that the USB drivers are not installed correctly. Update to the latest version of FinePix Viewer (including the USB drivers). To update FinePix Viewer, you must have the software from the CD-ROM bundled with the product (Utilities for FinePix) already installed. As an alternative method to updating the software, you can also reinstall the USB drivers. The USB drivers can be reinstalled by installing the software from the CD-ROM again. If the removable disk is still not displayed after the above measures have been taken, check the following: Windows system checks 1. You should be using Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 2. The Windows XP USB drivers are supported as standard system drivers but are only compatible with Software for FinePix versions 2.0 or later. If you are using an earlier version of the CD-ROM, an update to FinePix Viewer is required. 3. The software cannot be installed properly from "Scanners and Cameras" in the Control Panel. Digital camera checks 1. Check that the digital camera can play back images on its LCD monitor. 2. On digital cameras with the PC Camera function, select "DSC" as the USB setting. (Refer to the Owner's Manual for your camera for information on specifying the camera settings.)
