Time changes The time on the pocket pc changes 3 hours, for example instead of showing 10:30 a.m., it changes to 7:30 a.m. I already tried a hard reset. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Re: time changes

If you are syncing the ppc to another computer, is the time on that computer correct?

How do I set up my pocket pc to use wifi both at home and when I am traveling

You can simply follow the first 3 steps of this (http://iris.nyit.edu/oit/academic/FAQ/faq/2wireless/20026/20026.pdf) tutorial. After that, you should see your home wifi name in the list (as in the photo in the tutorial.). If it's not showing up, you can try to change your home wifi settings to accept both 802.11b standart and 802.11g standart. (Because your device only supports 802.11b standart). Steps of changing these settings of a wirless modem changes from manufacturer to manufacturer. I hope this helps.

When i reinstall the Bios on my Ipaq Hx2410 is fail.

I think you've know already (as an experienced technician) that opening h/w case won't solve anything..
The normal BIOS write is about 20 min (or more), longer than that it could be a problem with ActiveSync or your PC connections.
I'm afraid the ROM chip cannot re-restore because flashing basically format and write your BiosRom chip. Just pray that doing "hard reset" will turn your 'tiny' IpaQ to come alive.

Imate jam shuts down every now and then

hi thanks for using fixya!

On that kind of error, I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center to check further the software that you have. Be sure that you have change the battery even so that you said that it works fine. You already did the soft and hard reset, but unfortunately, still not working properly.

Good Luck! hope you still have your warranty!

Don't forget to rate my solution! thanks!

Shows Li-On battery charged when plugged into AC, shuts down when unplugged

Here is a palm article on the battery not holding charge-

My battery loses its charge very quickly

Like all Lithium Ion batteries, the battery in your device will eventually wear out. If you charge your device fully but it loses power after a few hours (or sooner), it may be time to replace the internal battery.

Sounds like you already did this. Do you have someone you know who has the same battery you could try? Or try your battery in their device?

Also this site looks good -

Step #11

You can connect it via USB and let it charge that way a little while, then try charging it normally. It's called trickle charging-

Trickle charging
Some Palm devices have the ability to "trickle charge" from a USB port on a PC or Mac. This means that it receives a very small amount of charging from the USB port, even if it is not connected to its AC charger. If your device is capable of this function, the charging time will be significantly longer for a trickle charge (depending on the power rating of the PC USB port). However, the device may not charge at all on an unpowered USB hub (or for example off off a keyboard).

Will not fire up a gps signal

Most GPS systems require a first time boot-up where they scan all registered satellites to determine where in the world they are and what satellites to concentrate their navigational efforts on. Try charging the GPS up entirely, and then doing a hard reset of the system (either by navigating to the hard reset in software or by pressing the tiny reset button usually located on GPS units), and then taking the system out under the open sky and letting it run for half an hour or so, making sure it is running in navigation mode (as opposed to setup or media mode). Once it locks properly onto a small subset of satellites, it should not have much difficulty.
If you continue having problems, check to be certain you are running the latest software on the device which can make a big difference. The latest software for the 520 is here:

Good luck...

Date & Time of calendar

Sounds like your PC is not set to adjust for daylight savings.... the ipaq automatically adjusts for daylight savings but the PC does not. On your PC double click on clock, click on Time Zone tab and then on that screen you will see the box that needs to be checked. also check that both PC and IPAQ are set to same time-zones.

Battery not charging

In my opinion everything you done was right. I believe that the warranty is still valid and you should try to contact service partner. Maybe is the power charging electronic defective. Sorry but I don’t see any other possibility that you can do alone.

Casio E-100 didn't power up.

Try this Does the yellow light come on when you plug the charger in? If so, leave it charging for 2 hours, then do a hard reset while charger is still plugged in. I think, on E-100 it involves holding down Power button, while pressing reset button on the back of the unit with a stylus for a few seconds. Warning: you'll lose all your personal data on E-100 this way - but then again, it's probably lost already.
