Tip & How-To about Apple iPod touch

How to copy iPod iPod Touch Games

Apple iPod line was originally designed as a portable music player, but the newer models are portable multimedia devices capable of many things: playing music and videos and view photos. In addition, some models such as the iPod Touch even install and run applications and games. You can download games and applications from the iTunes store on your computer and copy them to your iPod Touch.

1. Connect the larger end of the iPod to the USB port on the bottom of your iPod Touch.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB port on your computer. The iTunes software is automatically started when your computer recognizes your iPod Touch.

3. Click on your iPod Touch in the "Devices" section on the left side of the iTunes window.

4. Click on "Applications" tab at the top center of the iTunes window.

5. Scroll through the applications and check the box to the left of each game you want to copy to your iPod Touch.

6. Click "Apply" and then click the "Sync" to select your iPod to copy games to your iPod Touch.

I forgot my passcode for my iPod touch and now it says to connect to iTunes. We just got a new computer and I have no original things on it from my iPod. If I restore I'll lose everything on my iPod and have nothing on my computer. How can I restore my iPod touch without losing everything on my iPod?

Itunes is really tricky with transferring songs off your Ipod back to the computer but it is possible. Also it will rename EVERYTHING to random... alphanumeric names. But don't worry about that, once you load all those songs into Itunes, it will look normal again!
Follow these steps:
  1. Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.
  2. In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.
  3. In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."
  4. Navigate to the Music folder. On my 2nd gen 'pod, the full path is
    Portable Media Devices\GINA'S IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music
  5. Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.
Best of luck!
