Tip & How-To about Garden
I have come across a lot of questions for Riding Lawn Mowers of late. Here are some common issues. When the mower cranks but will not start check the Operator presence switch to make sure it is working properly. This is normally located under the seat and is activated when the operator sits in the seat. Most mowers will not crank or start unless the operator is in the seat. Make sure you are pressing the brake Pedal all the way down. If this switch checks out and you still have no fire check for spark at the Spark Plug. If you have spark then your problem is in the fuel system. It takes a very short time for gas to gum up the fuel lines or carburetor in higher temperatures and bad gas will cause this problem. If you can look in the tank and see blobs of a dark fluid then you have water in your gas, change it. If none of this solves the issue and you post on Fixya for further assistance please be sure to post the Make, Model and Year of manufacture in your post. Part locations and electrical system design vary by all these factors. Good Luck
