Tip & How-To about Dryers

Maytag Ensignia Motor assembly install

Nothing could be easier to install. The motor and blower come as one unit and the motor has a quick connect. No wiring ness. To swap the motor assembly you must pop the top and remove the front panel. Then you must remove the drum. The dryer has no access port to the rear on some models.
Unplug the motor quick connect and remove 2 screws holding down the assembly to the base of the dryer. Then remove the motor assembly. Clean it up and install the new motor assembly. Oil the rollers and idler and re install the drum and belt. It is better to have the dryer sitting on a work bench or tailgate to reinstall the belt. Some folks say they can do it with one hand. I use both hands and have scratches on both arms a result. So be careful.
