Tip & How-To about Cooktops

CUISINART EM-200-reverse engineering in process. **** facebook **** mac **** fxya you fascists.

Had cuisinart owned by conair send me 2 replacement machines they all behaved similarly
illogical to the circuit/instructions...then I said send me the manual machine=em 100 which will not make proper froth and the espresso often comes out like dirt. I kept one of the em 200 s and opened it up....i'll have to re examine it because I had other work to do but it looked fairly comlicated. Im looking for a fuse ..and yes, that was mentioned by some dweeb at this site. the EM200 works sometimes as if little majic creatures are in it. LOL. I want some f.u.cki.ng capaccino!
ps: I dont agree to any corporaten.az.i terms so ffu.c.k fixya and f.uc.k the *h0m0* who stole my name _ I am SLOAN. look it up fucktard.

Error code F104

F104 is logic board (main board) MUX failure.

1) Recycle power to the cooktop.
2) If problem continues, replace logic board (~$250 part)

You can read my other entry as to how to open the unit. It seems strange that the board would fail simply from moving. That is assuming that it was properly reconnected electrically to an appropriate circuit. It is certainly worth opening up the unit and simply checking all cable connections to the board and looking for any visible damage (not that there will always be some for a failed board) before paying for a replacement.

I should point out that GE's troubleshooting instructions often end quite quickly in logic board replacement. Either they anticipate a lot of failure of these boards or they like selling replacements whether necessary or not.

I am not familiar with your particular model, but if you just had it installed, I'd say that the outlet you are using to plug it in is on a GFI circuit (ground fault interrupt) You cannot use a cooktop with automatic re-ignition on a GFI circuit, as it will do exactly what you are describing. Easiest way to check this is to go to home depot and buy a little outlet tester that will tell you if your polarity is reversed in the outlet (another possible cause) or if it is a gfi or non gfi. The other thing you could try is unplugging the unit and plug it into an extension cord. Then take the cord and run it to a non gfi outlet in a hallway or anywhere but the kitchen or bathroom areas and see if it behaves itself then. Hope this helps!
