How do I manage WLAN internet access points on my Nokia C3-00 device?

How can i use always WLAN connection on my Nokia C3-00 phone for Internet instead of GPRS?

I hope this helps.

First of all you delete all current settings, these are for 02 and will not work on giffgaff. To delete settings:

  1. Press the navi key and go to Menu
  2. Go to settings
  3. Go to configuration
  4. Press the navi key on Default config. settings
  5. On both 02 Pay&Go and 02 paymonthly press the backspace key (inbetween the p and enter key)
  6. Select Yes to delete on both

Now that you have done that you need to set up the giffgaff settings, I recommend using this method to do it:

  1. Go back to configuration
  2. Select personal settings
  3. Select Options then Add new and then Web
  4. Put the Account name to anything you want (I put Giffgaff web)
  5. Put the Homepage to anything you want (I put http://www.google.co.uk/)
  6. Put the Username to giffgaff and the password to password
  7. Put Use preferred access pt. to No
  8. Select Access point settings
  9. Put Proxy to Enabled
  10. In the Proxy address type 193.113.200.195 and select OK
  11. In Proxy port type 8080
  12. Go into Bearer settings
  13. In Packet data access pt. type giffgaff.com
  14. Put the Network type to IPv6 (IPv6 appears to be faster)
  15. Leave the Authentication type at Normal
  16. In User name type giffgaff and in password type password
  17. Go back until you see your Personal accounts and press Options on your settings and select Activate
  18. Go back again and in Default config. settings select Personal config.
  19. Finally press Default in all apps.

Now that you've done this set up the packet data settings:

  1. Go back and select Connectivity and then Packet data
  2. Put Packet data connection to When needed and select Packet data settings
  3. In Active access point select Access point 5 (Access point 1 is known to have some problems, select Access point 5 to be on the safe side)
  4. Go into Edit active access point
  5. In Access point alias type whatever you want (I typed in Giffgaff)
  6. In Packet data access pt. type giffgaff.com

Okay so finally for wifi settings:

  1. Go back and go into WLAN
  2. Select Internet connection to Ask first (so that you can choose to use wifi)
  3. Now select Available WLANs and wait for the search
  4. Simply find you WLAN, select it and enter the security password for it
  5. When it asks Save network for future use select Yes

Now you have giffgaff internet and wifi set up on your Nokia C3-00! For any issues you can message me, I will be willing to help!

Update: You may be experiencing problems with using wifi with the browser or any other application, do this to fix it: "I had the exact same problem. What I did was that I removed all network Internet settings, GPRS, WAP, etc. because I do not want to use them which is when I lost the ability to select which AP to use.

So what I did was I created a personal setting:

Settings > Configuration > Personal settings > Add > Web

Then go to the main menu > Internet > Web settings > Configuration Settings > Select the personal settings that you created

Now try to access the internet and it will ask you to choose, choose Wi-fi

Then go back to the personal settings and delete the setting that you created. From now on, you will be asked which connection to use everytime you access the internet

If you want to restore your GPRS settings, you can just request it from your network provider and they will send it to your phone."

how can i activate internet on nokia E63?

Your device can detect and connect to wireless local area networks (WLAN). Using a WLAN, you can connect your device to the internet. To use a WLAN connection, you must create an internet access point (IAP) for the WLAN. Use the access point for applications that need to connect to the internet.
Use the WLAN wizard to create an access point
1. You can access the WLAN wizard directly from your home screen's information area. Another way to get to the WLAN wizard is to select Menu > Connectivity > WLAN wizard.
2. If the search finds WLANs, you can create an internet access point - scroll to the connection, select Options > Start web browsing. If you select a secured WLAN, you will be asked to enter the relevant password. To connect to a hidden network, you must enter the correct network name (service set identifier, SSID).
3. To end the active connection, select the connection > Options and Exit. If you want to define whether you want to use the WLAN or packet data connection when starting to browse the web, you can set it so that the device always asks which access point is to be used.

Set up an access point inquiry when you open the browser
1. Select Options > Settings.
2. Select General > Access point, and from Always ask - You always get to select which access point you use.

internet

- Make sure that your PSP WLAN switch is turned on!

Where's your PSP manual?

OK here, I'll go through all steps to get to use the net on ya PSP!

PSP on...? Check...
WLAN switch on & working properly? Check...

Now...

go to Network > Enter Internet Browser > You probably don't have your net on 'Auto-Select' or have set a 'Home Page Setting', so enter a URL in the Address Bar > it'll then come up with 'Network Connection', 'Select connection', enter '[New Connection]' > 'WLAN Settings', enter Scan, probably the easiest for you > 'Select the access point to be used'. Select your home access point > 'SSID', name correct?, press right arrow button to continue > 'WLAN Security Setting'. Select the correct one if incorrect. If you need a PW for your connection, WEP, WPA Key, then enter it, if not, enter None > 'Address Settings', enter Custom > 'IP Address Setting', enter Automatic > 'DNS Setting', Automatic > 'Proxy Server', don't think you need that!, enter Do Not Use > 'Internet Browser', Start > 'Enter the connection name.', name it what you what it to be > 'Setting List', scroll through to see if everything's correct > 'Press the O/X button to save settings.' > Now it'll appear on the 'Select connection' page again. This time, click on your home connection... DONE!

- I suggest you to save say Google as your Home Page, so it'll be more convenient for you on the future! Tools > Settings > Home Page Settings > type in a URL that you want as your Home Page!
- PSP net have very little net memory, so to save some memory, go to Tools > Settings > View Settings > Conserve Memory On.

Don't forget to thank me! Thank me by rating me positively, & 'Was this Useful', YES! XD =)
