Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

My required cable ( cat5 or cat6 )

If you need to transfer data at less then 300 MB/S then use cat5 cable and insert the switch at minimum after 300ft. length.

if data rate is in gaga Bytes then use the cat6 other wise don't waste money on cat6.

i face a problem to connect a to office with a 95mtr cat5e cable.switch is not blink on both hands.

95 meters is simply too long. No way of getting a signal on the other end without the use of a repeater. The maximum distance for CAT5e and CAT6 is 295ft, which is roughly 90 meters, but even that only works in an ideal environment. Often the max distance is announced with "300ft = 100m", but that is not true (and 300ft are only 95 meters anyways.)

The best option is fiber optic cable, but that is very expensive.

Read also this article - it has some good explanations and comments.
I would buy a cheap router (WRT54G i.e.) and modify it with some third-party firmware as repeater. That would cost you not more than 25-50$. (Tip: google "Router as Repeater", and you will find many results.)

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
