Tip & How-To about Cell Phones

How to transfer contacts using Bluetooth

You want to get a new phone soon, but you fear the infamous contact that comes with manually enter a phone without a SIM card? Has someone stolen phone in the past? Want to learn how to transfer your contacts for free using Bluetooth?

1. First you need to associate your computer and cell phone. Each device is different in this respect, but it should go without saying - go to your phone's Bluetooth menu and select "Add new device" and go from there. You need to list the devices. Follow the instructions on each device to do this.

2. After you have paired them, go to your list of phone contacts. In a Verizon phone, go to Options -> Send business card. Phones other providers should have similar options. Click on "Via Bluetooth" and then you can more "cards" to send to the PC. These "cards" are the contacts stored in a format that electronic devices such as computer and connect to the phone can understand.

3. Click "Submit" and transfer the contacts begin. You'll probably transfer to the PC to accept. Keep the cards in an easy folder name to remember.

code to unblock puk codes

to my knowledge, this cannot happen without someone actually locking the sim, so you may want to contact your employer, but just in case your employer doesn't know whats happening,
here are instructions to find your puk code for att, if you have a different carrier, contact their customer support for further instruction

Obtain a PUK Code

Instructions: When the error message "ENTER PUK CODE" is shown on the screen of the device:
  1. Log into myAT&T.
  2. Select Wireless from the myAT&T tab at the top of the page.
  3. Select Phone/Device.
  4. Click Unblock SIM Card.
  5. A new page will open, containing the PUK code for your phone. Enter the code on your phone's screen to unblock the SIM and create a new PIN.
Unblock SIM Card
  1. Enter the eight-digit PUK code on the phone, then press OK/Yes.
Note: Some Motorola phone users need to enter **05* if "enter PUK" is not already displayed. After entering **05*, enter the eight-digit PUK code and press OK.
  2. Select a new PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
  3. Re-enter the PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
  4. If the codes were entered successfully, the phone is ready for use.
If the incorrect PUK code is entered 10 times in a row, the SIM card becomes permanently locked and a new SIM card must be purchased. If the device is requesting PUK2, call Customer Care at 800-331-0500.

... good luck

doesn't show contact of sim card of samsung galaxy GT-s5570 can u give me format code of samsung GT-s5570

Hi,

I'm Ben and -- hopefully -- I can provide some meaningful

assistance.

It seems that your SIM card is locked.

SIM CARD:

If you enter a wrong PIN code too many times, usually three,

your SIM will lock itself. This protects you from someone using

your personal information or making calls if your cell phone is

lost or stolen. You may see "PIN blocked" or Enter PUK code" on

your cell phone display. The PUK code stands for PIN Unblocking

Key. In the U.S., the PUK code is rarely provided when you get

your subscription.

If you do not have your PUK code, contact the Customer Care

customer again. Give them your phone number and once they

are sure it is really you, they will give you the PUK code.
You will then be asked to set a new PIN code. Once you have

your PUK be sure to keep it in a safe place.

Note that if you enter a wrong PUK 10 times in a row, the SIM

will be permanently blocked, and you'll need to purchase a new

SIM card.

Hi, I have a sim card with many contacts i need on it and I managed to enter incorrect security codes multiple times until the phone displayed "sim card rejected". How can i retrieve the data on my sim now - surely, the phone does not automatically erase the data stored on the sim?

you probably entered the pin code wrong 3 times, so now you need to call your phone service provider of that sim card to get the puk code to unlock the sim card, you won't loose any contents from the sim card.

you can buy a reader like this one http://www.dekart.com/products/hardware/sim_card_reader/

and get your contacts etc backed up on your computer so if it ever gets stolen or stops working you can insert the new sim card into the reader / writer and insert the contacts back and save a ton of time if you have more than 100 people on the contacts.

no sim card inserted?

no sim card error is not virtual error from service providers, its due to your phone hardware problem. if your sim was not working due to service provider it will show your card registration failed. but you are getting sim card not inserted means your sim card contacts are not touching the phone sim contacts. try to refix your sim card properly. then try to reboot your phone.
