Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to change the background on your mac laptop

1. Figure out what image you want and save it to an appropriate easy access like on your desktop. I find it easiest to make a folder on your iphoto of a photo or photos you want as your desktop background and name the folder background.
2. Then click on your system preferences.
3. Then under personal click on desktop and screensaver.
4. Then on the left side you can pick what photo(s) you want according to where you put them. If you made a folder click the folder or the one photo.
5. You can change things like how often the photos change or if they are in order.
Tips: Different photos fit differently on your screen, not all will fit the screen completely especially if your get them online. Most photos that are taken on a camera can fit the screen.

My mac wont recognize my Fuji Film camera.

Looks like you may need to use a specific application to see the photos on the camera.
Try using Image Capture and iPhoto (for me it worked in Image Capture after changing the iPhoto preferences to always open Image Capture when camera connected - go figure).

Easiest way...use a card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Then, you can import them to iphoto.

lost iphoto back catalog after an import, is there anyway to recover these photos?

the back catalog of your images are not gone. Since the pictures you have uploaded form your camera to iPhoto all those files are still there. All you need to do is re-load the images into the library of iPhoto.
1) Start iPhoto, then in the menu goto File / Add to library..
2) Then a file browsing window will open, all you need to do is locate the folder in which u had specified to iPhoto. (Default location for iPhoto is located at MainHD / Users / Username / Pictures / iPhoto Library
3) Once you have located the folder or folders you wish to add to your library or catalog just press import. And all the images should show in the catalog.
4) if you have more pictures saved in another folder, then repeat steps 1 to 3 again. but in step 2 locate the folder or drive you wish to import from.
