Tip & How-To about Audio Players & Recorders

How to play computer sounds through microphone

There may, of course, sounds from a microphone, because there is a speaker, but you can use sounds from a microphone or something speakers connected to the microphone system is played. Computer games, but might sound a bit complicated because they usually lead to loud sounds into the microphone to a number set.

1. Find the computer that you want to play sound. Go to Control Panel and click on "Hardware and Sound." Under "Sound" in "Changing the system sounds." You can access various Windows sounds by selecting them and clicking "Test".

2. External speakers to the sound card or audio output on a laptop. With active speakers is recommended, the stronger the better. Set the microphone in front of the speaker.

3. Connect the microphone and play the sound from computer speakers. That should pass the microphone for recording or performing live.

no speaker sound

There sometimes are three connectors on a sound card that are similar. A speaker output, microphone input, and stereo headphone output.

Try all three, if you accidentally put it on the microphone input you won't get sound output of that one, so try another.

Also, check in the speaker control panel for the sound to be checked to mute or volume turned all the way down.

Gateway Computer 710X Speakers are crackling/popping

It sounds as if the card itself may be physically bad. or you may have a microphone connected/something in your mic jack and you are picking up noise.

cd vs. microphone

A few possibilites.

1. Even though you have some kind of peak limiting on your mics, the signal might still be peaking somewhere along the audio path and causing distortion. Gain controls might be set too high somewhere along the way.

2. The amp you are using might simply be driving too much power for the speakers to handle.

3. A faulty connection, connector, wire or input could cause distortion of something like distortion which is of course would be more apparent at higher volumes.

4. Equipment placement could be picking up sounds or interference from other sources.

5. If you are able to discern level peaks but they are occasional and not flat out, then a compressor placed in the mic signal path could certainly help - otherwise see # 1 above.

Best of luck in solving this.

Cheers.
