Tip & How-To about Microsoft Xbox Console

Want fewer "Wrong Disc" errors?

I reccomend you get a laser lens cleaner. My personal has diagnostic tracks, but you don't need it. Using the laser lens cleaner is like taking immunasitons- it helps to prevent ceartin errors. Use the cleaner as directed-usually every 5-10 hours of play.

I purchased a nexxtech laser lens cleaner to clean the lens on a playstation 3. The person at the store stated to just follow the directions, but there are not any directions. Also, she said there should be sound but there isn't. How do I use these laser lens cleaner to clean the PS. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello
1 Turn on ps, then remove any disc in there.
2 Insert cleaning disc.Make sure tv is on and your set to proper input as you would if playing games.
3 A image should come on screen.
4 Use controller to navigate to cleaning cycle and hit x button i think to start cleaning.

If this does not work take laser cleaner back, and purchase another one.Not all work in ps3 or ps2.

no data. can't play music.

Hello,

how long have you been using the player?

I think the problem is from the lens (laser).

The lens is very weak such that it cannot read data from the disc.

You need to clean the lens with a cleaner and if it does not work, then it means you have to change the lens completely.

Take care.

The laser lens could be dirty. A cleaner disc with brushes does the trick.
Or the laser could be off track

Toshiba SD-2050 problem reading discs

If it reads only the first track, it sounds like a mechanical obstruction of the laser assembly (something is physically blocking it from travelling on its rails). If you are so inclined, try removing the deck lid andgently pushing the laser (in an area where there's nothing fragile) along its track to see if it frees up. It doesn't usually take much.
