Avaya Partner Phone System Programming

Programming Without Button Overlays:
Although it is advisable to have a Partner programming manual and overlays when performing changes. Here are the basic steps for changing system time, day and date. The "Feature" key is self explanatory while other keys need a reference. "System Program" key is the left intercom key on the phone. The "Central Tel" key is the right intercom key. The "Next Data" key is the third key from the left with an LED on the top row of an 18 Button display set. Numbers # and * are simply entered as numbers of the dial pad.

Avaya Partner System Date Program #101

Use this program to set the month, day and year. The system displays only the month and day on display telephones when the telephone is idle: the month, day and year also print out on SMDR call reports when used.

Considerations:
The System Date date-stamps the back up files when you use Backup Programming.

I work with hand drawn illustrations that I scan as bitmaps and would like to change theminto vector based illustrations to colour them in using either illustrator or photoshop. Open paths are a problem while colouring in the illustrations so how would I close open paths on these vectors?

You can either close the vectors, completing the autotrace (I assume you are autotracing) or you can draw shapes into the spaces and color the shapes. This is akin to color overlays, then send the overlays behind the line art.

It depends on the complexity of the artwork. You may need to touch up your illustrations so your shapes are complete in the drawing, that would probably be the most time-effective way to solve this problem. Fixing the vectors or tracing in the color overlays (underlays if you will) can be time consuming.

Templates

Hi there, most of the time, the technicians leave these Programming Overlays in the box, or in a box next to the telephone system.
You can look up these overlays via Google, or look for the programming template. We cannot tell you which buttons are for what, because each button can be programmed as something different on every set.
But here is a non-picture of the template... Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->
You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for the 3 arrows that correspond.

Or you can look at this link below for a picture representation...

Programming Page Button

You could look in the station user's guide and program paging. This may work, or not, if you're paging internal and outside do this:
From your phone press Feature 00 the button and then Intercom *70.

If you don't want all the idle phones in group 1, but just the outside speaker, press 70 alone.

I'm not positive, but you may have to delete the button in centralized programming if it is already assigned a "CO" line.
Centralized programming is done from extension 10 or 11 and involves the system manual and knowing where the overlay buttons are.

Post back if you need a basic Partner ACS manual or try www.avaya.com for system manuals.

Video Problems with Windows Media Player

Why is the projected video black in the Player? If you can see the Player, but the Video and Visualization pane is black, this usually indicates that your video card is not configured correctly. You can usually correct this problem by changing the video acceleration and/or overlay settings for your video card. To change video acceleration, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, move the slider to adjust the video-acceleration capabilities of your video hardware. Drag the slider to Full to use all available video acceleration. Drag the slider to None to use basic video-acceleration settings that work with most video hardware. To change overlay settings, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, click the Advanced button. 4. In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, under Video Acceleration, clear the Use overlays check box.
