This tip is for Windows Vista-

1) Open your start menu and search for Regedit.
2) Open the Registry Editor
3) On the left side scroll up to the top
4) Open the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Classes > Local Settings > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version
5) Now if there is already a folder in Current Version you should right click and delete it. Now right click the folder Current Version and choose to make a new folder. Name the folder "TrayNotify" (The text is case sensitive so make sure to enter it exactly how I typed it.
6) Now exit out of the registry editor and press CTRL+ALT+DELETE

hi at the bottom of my screen i use to have a volume icon and i could click on it to say how high/low i wanted it but for some reason it has disapered and i got to the control panel to change it and it would allow me to click i would like to no how i can get that icon back to the bottom of my screen?

If the volume icon is just missing, try the following:

For Windows 7
1. Right click on the System Time at the notification area (bottom right hand side) and choose Properties. It will then give you a window for the System Icons, check Volume on the list and click ok and that should fix it.

For Windows Vista
1. Right click on the Taskbar, choose Properties
2. Go to the Notification Area Tab then check Volume then hit Ok.

If the above troubleshooting steps still won't work, try this guide.

Good luck.

volume control is missing

I am going to guess that you are talking about the volume control button on the bottom right hand side of the screen right? Did you recently install a new operating system or upgrade? No worries either way! Returning the volume control slider to the bottom right hand side of the screen is an easy task. I will walk you through it.

To return the volume control to the desktop screen, we need to go into the control panel. If you already know how to get to the control panel, please go there and find the ICON that says "sounds". If you don't know how to get to the control panel, follow these steps:

(Please note that the instructions below are for a person with the classic taskbar set up only)

Go to start at the bottom left side of your screen and click on it. Then slide up to "settings" and move to the right until you see control panel and click on it.

In the control panel, locate the ICON that says "sounds" and click on it. You will find the volume control option locate here. Make sure that sounds are enabled. You should see a choice in your current scound sceme that says something like "windows default" or similar.

Hope this helps?
