Getting past BIOS password

Many times you will wish to make a change to the BIOS, but you don't know the password here are some work a rounds

1 Remove the CMOS battery on a desktop
-this is a battery that looks like a watch battery located on the motherboard if you remove it and put it back in the BIOS along with its password will be reset

2 for a notebook

Contact the manufacturer give them the serial number and free of charge the should give you a master password that will work. Notebooks are more complicated then desktops and sometimes have extra security so it is safest to do it this way.

How can I get into the BIOS to change boot sequence when I don't have the password

Remove the power cord, remove the battery and then remove the CMOS Battery which is normally attached to the motherboard. Most times you will have to disassemble the laptop to get to the cmos battery. Once you remove it let the computer sit for an hour or so and it will forget the date, time and passwords without that cmos battery being in. Put the battery back in after time elapses then see what happens.

I don't have a password for the set up utility screen!

BIOS password to enter set up?

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

if no luck with this

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.

Hope this helps you

i have forget my bios password

A certified HP tech. can reset it for you without anny problem at about 60$US... the DIY way (If you know what you'r doing... skilled) you need to reach the CMOS battery pack (inside the notebook this meens disassembling the notebook), than unplug it, than short the battery connector pins (on the system board NOT the connector on the battery leeds) for 20 seconds, than replace the battery if you dont know what I'm talking about ask help from a certified HP technician near you... if you find the battery dirrectly soldered to the system board than you can short the battery for 20 seconds but keep in mind that you've just taken out a fiew years of it's life... ther's some software out on the net that can successfuly reset the password but unfortunatly they work 50% of the time... it's up to you (a painfull 100% or an eazy 50%)...

ther's some one know my pass. in the KOS and I don't know how to change pass. my pasword

IM assuming you have a Bios password? If so this is diffult to remove sometimes. In most cases you will have to take the laptop completely apart to get to a cmos battery (flat silver round battery) to unplug then replug it back in. What this does is wipe all the setting in the bios thus removing the password. But in some cases this will not work and you will have to short certain pins on the motherboard to remove the password. If this is the case it is best to leave it to the experts.
