Tip & How-To about Radio Communications
Build your own Rf filter for your output. Wind about 6 turns of enamel coated wire on a straw about "1 inch. Insert a round piece of iron in the center or Iron core(ferrite). Insert capacitors 10-30pf before coil to ground and after coil to ground. I insert 2 capacitors before coil and 2 after coil to ground. The principle is to shunt stray Rf to ground through the capacitors. At the Antenna side add a 100ohm resistor. Its a small Rf filter that should lower SWR and shunt stray Rf to ground, to keep RF from bleeding into Electronics, Neighbors stereos,Tv's and keeps it within all legal power. Use an SWR meter when building this(I recommend a small metal box with 2 female adaptors and a 6" inch Jumper coax.) Get the SWR between 1.1 to 1.5 swr and lock it down. This should also protect you from Lightning and save your transmitter. Ground the metal box heavy to Metal filing cabinets or waterpipes, meterbox, or a 6 ft. rod into earth. Label your box "TX In" and the other end "Antenna"(ANT). Rememeber to use 100 to 500 ohm resistor at Antenna end. Spread coil for max power output and lowest SWR.
