Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

BitDefender Total Security Virus Scan locks or slows down your PC - Follow this tip!

I see a lot of people complaining that their PC/laptop slows down or even completely stops responding when they run a virus scan or a deep scan on Bit-defender. There is a simple fix to this. All you have to do is change a few things in the scan properties section on Bit-defender as shown below.
First of all you have to get into "Expert Mode"

By default, Bit-defender starts in to "Novice Mode"

Click on Settings as shown in the image below

Next, click on the small arrow next to novice mode and select "Expert Mode" and then APPLY

The new window that open is "Expert Mode" :)

Now, Click on AntiVirus, then Virus Scan. Right click on 'Deep System Scan' (or any other type of scan that is giving you the problem) and select Properties.

In the 'Properties' Box make sure that the 'Run the task with low proirity' is CHECKED !

Apply the settings and close all the windows. Bitdefender wont take up all your Laptops resources when it runs a scan.

my computer is very slow to respond in everything!

Could be a virus. Could be junk just clogging up the works.

I would run a virus scan, if you don't have a virus program, I use Avast Free AntiVirus and it has worked great for me so far. I would also run a disk defragmenter and disk cleanup to see if the combo of those two will get it running good again.

I doubt this could be it, but you may even have a ton of dust in your cooling fan and processor fins. It would have to be a lot of **** in there, but Ive seen it. Maybe want to blow it out carefully.

pc suddenly slowed down severely and any sound (you tube video, radio streaming, any other video already on my pc, even the initial start up sound) stutters with deep and prolonged metallic sound

I advice you to thorough scanning of your machine. If it still behaves the same, You may consider backing up your files and re-formatting the machine.

my laptop running slow and net browsing very slow my configeration windows7 original ,320 gb HD,3GB memorry

There are several reason for the computer to be running slow for the start please try restarting the computer to safe mode with networking (Steps given below) and check if your browsing speed is better. If your internet browsing speed not better in safe mode with networking then you need to contact your ISP to complain about slow speed.

If it is working fine in safe mode, then some of the software (example: Antivirus / Internet Security / Firewall) is slowing down your computer. Please try removing it. Also try reducing the color scheme, use a non aero theme and see if your comptuer is working fine. If so your processor is not able to take the load of windows 7 visual effects aswell as other programs running in the background at the same time
