how do i set up multi screen on my 42" HDTV Insignia

You may use an HDMI / DVI cable to connect to your computer. Next if you have windows 7 hold your windows key and hit the letter "P" (for projector) this will allow you to bring on the multi-montior feature on your computer. Make sure to select the option that says EXTEND. Please note that when connecting a DVI device you must use the HDMI IN1 (dvi) jack on the back of your TV. you cannot use HDMI In 2.

1. Turn off your TV and all connected equipment.
2. Connect an HDMI/DVI cable or DI-HDMI adapter between the HDMI in 1 (dvi) jack on the back of your TV and DVI OUT jack on the DVI device.
3. Connect an audio cable between the DVI audio IN jacks on the back of your tv and the DVI audio jack on the dvi device.
turn on the tv then turn on the dvi device.

when i connect my pc to my monitor (LG w2353v-pf) via a HDMI cable the monitor tells me to check signal cable. I know my HDMI cable is fine since i have tested it on my TV. also i know that my computer HDMI port works as i was also able to test it on my TV. I was told that because there are no speakers on the monitor it would not be able to produce video because the audio would confuse it??

Hi raposo69 ,

I see that you are having an error check signal cable.

Have you tried selecting the correct Input for the LG LCD monitor?

make sure that the Correct Input is selected properly to be able to detect the signal from the HDMI cable that you are using.

The audio will not confuse the video on an HDMI Video will be detected as long as the Input on the LCD monitor is selected.

Audio on the HDMI will only work if the HDMI driver is provided like on a desktop computer you will need to get the driver for the HDMI for Audio and video to come out using an HDMI cable but never will audio conflict to the HDMI video output.

I hope this hepls.

Have a nice day,

No audio on the HDMI output for a sharp LC32SB24U

Hu dueperdio,

I see that your HDMI on your LCD TV does not provide audio, I will be more than glad to give you details on your concern, please see below step by step details,

* Before we start lets make sure that the HDMI cable is connected to you Computer.

* On your computer Laptop/Desktop lower right you should see an icon for the audio or a speaker icon to be exact, right click on it then select playback devices.

* Once we have Playback Devices up on the screen you will see a list showing you your HDMI device, Speakers, and possibly a Realtek High Definition audio device.

* Right click on the HDMI device which should be the first on the list and cselect on set as default device to make audio work on you LCD TV.

* Once set check if Aduio comes from HDMI to your LCD TV if not you will have to restart your Computer, leave the LCD TV on, and wait for the computer to start back up.

this should make HDMI video and Audio work on your LCD TV,.

Note: the steps above will be the same if you will go back to using the speakers of your computer, you will just have to set the speakers as the default device to get audio from you Laptop speakers or if you have a desktop on your desktop speakers.

I hope that this will help you get Audio from your HDMI, have a nice day,

lcd montior with tv box but no hdmi sound

in some cases certain manufacturers say in the instructions that when using s video with seperate audio, you cannot use the HDMI for the sound and sometimes visa versa, it's just the way the output is set up. Remove the other sound cable you are using for pc or tv and just use HDMI to confirm that the sound is re-enabled on the HDMI
