HP M1522 Scanner 5 or Scanner 8 Error

UPDATE: HP is no longer honoring this repair.

If you have an HP M1522h and you are getting this error, there may be hope for you. Check the back of your product for the sticker with the serial number on it. Also on that sticker is the date of manufacture. If your machine was manufactured before January 1, 2010, then HP has a service advisory that addresses this issue. A service advisory is an admission by HP that the product does not meet expected standards and as such they offer a free repair of the machine, regardless of the warranty status of the product. HP will replace both the scanner assembly and the formatter on your machine and it will not cost you a dime. You simply need to contact HP at 1-800 HPINVENT. This service advisory is valid until December 31, 2011.

Sorry to tell you but OX___... messages means "failed printhead or ink system"
You should try to change the printhead because an error occured and the printhead it's no longer working

HP-2727mfp scanner error problem

HPM2727mfp - Scanner Error 5 - Scanner Error 8

These errors indicate a problem with the flatbed scanner assembly. The flatbed is no longer able to initialize or find home position. The scanner may move back and forth continually and the light flicker at a high rate of speed. The flatbed scanner will need to be serviced/changed. The part required is CB532-67905


Please contact your local Hewlett Packard Repair Center.

I have HP 3390 Laserjet MFP. The USB port no longer works

What is the exact error message you receive?You don't mention what OS you're using, but have you seen this article? Also make sure you have a good power supply to the printer. (refer here.) Possibly update your printer drivers.
Also check through these steps. Check here. And make sure you can ping the printer. ( see here).

Finally, HP has a lot of resources available online for your printer, including parts. See here.

error 79 ...shuts off and the screen says error 79

Here is your problem.
79 Error
The product has experienced an
internal firmware error.
Disconnect the power cable from the
product, wait at least 30 seconds, then
reconnect the power cable and wait for
the product to initialize.
If the error persists, upgrade the firmware.
Firmware update via flash executable
The configuration page lists the firmware version of the product. On
flash-memory-based products, you can update the firmware code by
downloading the latest flash executable for the product and running
the program according to the readme instructions that come with it. If
the firmware should become corrupted or fail (usually because of an
interruption when attempting to update the firmware), the product will
no longer function. In this case, a firmware recovery DIMM is
available from HP.
