How to open th lens? My camera is Canon Power shot SX 100 IS. Zoom lens is not moving and the camera gives a lens error. I tried all the recommendations

I'm not sure what recommendations that you've tried? Have you tried all of the steps of the following link? If so, then it may be time to consider professional repair. Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

1st approach (Quick one!)

1. Soft reset your device
2. make a backup copy of the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA if exists.
3. delete the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA.
4. Soft reset your device once again.

2nd approach (Long one!)

If 1st approach did not work, restore the MSMETADATA folder and try the following:

Step Zero: BACKUP
- Make a full backup of your device (including storage cards). If you don't like to do a full backup keep at least a backup of all files and folders we are going to delete as indicated below:

Step One
-In the main device directory delete the file WMPInfo.xml
-Delete the \Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\ directory and all of
the files in it including the WMDRM folder.
-Delete the \Music folder

Step Two
-Go to your SD card main directory and delete the file WMPInfo.xml
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\WMDRM
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\Music

Step Three
-Repeat step two for any other storage cards.

Step Four
-Refresh devices in WMP and the storages card should show up in the left tab
and in the sync window you can click "Next Device"

Hope this helps...
