Tip & How-To about Cobra 29 LTD CB Radio

Facts about Cb radio.

A Cb(Citizens Band) radio usually only broadcast on frequencies 26.965 to 27.405 megahertz. It is for mostly short range use 3 to 20 miles range. It comes with legal power of 4 watts. Ranges average about 5 miles. Don't expect big results off this little low-power Am transmitter. A basic 40 channel radio, Microphone, and "Magnet Mount" antenna plus 12 volt Dc 5A power supply will suffice. Place the Magnet mount on a metal file cabinet inside your house. hook up the Radio Shack 12 volt 3-5 Amp power supply to your 40 channel radio, Say Uniden pro510xl or Cobra 19 plus mini compact about $39 for these types. A $20 Radio Shack magnet mount. Turn on radio an talk. If you live in the city near lots of friends who have one too. You can talk on a private channel like Ch#40 and talk all night. The waves get quieter at night and extend farther into the Ionesphere;conditions are favorable 8pm to 12am. You should talk loudly within 5-7 miles easy. I like friends nearby; who live within 3 miles of me. Don't expect Long Distance with these radios. Unless you buy a big 1000 Watt Rf Linear an Tower 100 ft. with big Antennas costing $10,000. But remember the FCC will knock on your door and may give you 5 years $10,000 fines for anything of Linear amps 1000Watts. Just stick with basic tune and adjust, power mics(Cobra sells best). Talk with friends about fishing, hunting, gardens, tools, cars, women etc. Have Fun!!!

How do i tune Mazda Demio (2004 model) radio to Southern African frequencies?

fm frequencies are just that fm frequencies ( not japanese, chinese ,english or anything else
it is a range of frequencies in the fm band that local stations broadcast on
so all you have to do is to turn the tuner knob until you get 107 fm
so as you turn the knob you will loose 89 and it will go probably 90.5 , 100.20, 102.7 etc and if there is a station broadcasting that your radio will pick up it will come in and then fade out as you keep moving the knob
you may have to change the mode as there are fm 1 ,fm 2,fm 3 bands to get your fm 107 as it will depend on what megahertz 107 is operating on

i jus was wondering, can the cb radio and the handheld radio transmit on the same channel? Im a security officer and im interested in purchase a cb radio so we can use it at work but i dont know if its possible i need anwsers can you help me?

CB radios and hand-held CB radios can operate on the same channel and be in contact with each other. Other hand-held radios do not operate on the same frequencies and even though they may have channel numbers the channels have different frequencies and will not operate to CB radios.

how do you properly set the settings for normal use on the Connex 3300

I am guessing that you are talking about getting it to talk on the FCC Citizens band. I am not too firmiliar with connex, but this will work with any radio with expaned channels.

Usually you use a frequency counter to see what frequency you are on when you are playing with the bands. If you do not have a frequency counter you can find the CB this way.

If its in a mobile, or you are not really far from a highway where big rigs travel, you can flip to channel 19 on the channel sellector then flip through the bands checking each time to see if you are on the CB 19. When you start to hear truckers or you get a radio check from a trucker your on CB 19. You can always ask the person, "this is 19 right"?

I recomend geting a frequency counter.
