How to find appliance model numbers

When trying to troubleshoot or purchasing parts for your appliance the model number is the key to doing so. Each model may have different part numbers and or different troubleshooting techniques. They may also have a different service manual. The model number that is on your customer manual is just a generic copy of many models that exist and can not be used for the information that is needed.

Below you will find a video procedure that will show you how to find your entire model number. You can bring it up in either picture or video format.

For finding your appliance model number Click on the link http://www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts

Just to the right of the "search" tab click on "help me find my model number"

Just click on the model of your choice In either video or image presentation

Please consider giving us a 4 thumbs up for our procedure.

Hello Evgeny;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

1.) Open the oven door . On a label you will find a model number.
2.) Go into http://searspartsdirect.com, put in your model number and find the glass part number. Do not purchase from sears, they are expensive.
3.) go into your web search with the part number and purchase lowest price.
4.) Go into your web side and search; Replace oven glass with your oven model number.

Double wall oven: RDE 2400 P2 Model Number, MI 34 882 81 Serial Number, 6/20/1984 Purchase date. Electric Cooktop. RC 8200XKNO Model Number, M22461514 Serial Number, 6/20,1984 Purchase Date. Undercounter Dishwasher, F22204229 Serial Number, SHU7005 Model Number, 6/20/1984 Purchase Date. Please recommend Whirlpool replacement Applicances . Thank You, Alecia M. Williams

OK, now replacement of major appliances in your home should be left to someone that you don't even know. Why should I recommend Whirlpool replacement appliances. This is your decision.

It depend on what you want in appliances; such as, top quality, the most expensive, mid level appliances, and many other factors involved in your choices of replacement appliance.

Mrs Alecia William you need to talk it over with your husband and friends, do your research on appliances on the internet. Just remember this....Everybody will give advise on what appliances to buy but the final decision will be left you and your husband. I could recommend different types of appliances, but who am I! Please do your research. All I can recommend is BUY AMERICA. And yes, United States does make all the appliance that you have mentioned. GB you...stewbison

I have a Maytag Neptune Model #: MAH5500BWW Serial #: 74920520ZZ The door refuses to close. If I slam it a few times, it eventually closes, locks, and it washes fine. I was considering replacing the lock assembly but it seems there are different parts based on the serial number. Which part should I purchase?

If definitely sounds like you have a door latch problem. Slamming the door repeatedly, however, is probably doing more harm than good. You may be able to get the door to work intermittently for now, but eventually, the lock will stop working altogether.

You are correct. The part numbers ARE based on the Serial Number (series) when it comes to Maytag appliances. If a series is listed next to a part (series 10, for example), the part applies to all appliances that have a serial number beginning with "10" or higher. If an additional series is listed (20, for example), the part applies to all appliance that have a serial number beginning with "20" and higher.

EXAMPLE:

Series 10 (serial numbers beginning with "10 to "19")
Series 20 (serial numbers beginning with "20" to "29")
Series 30 (serial numbers beginning with "30 to "39")

So...using YOUR appliance serial number for this example, if you had a part that had several series listings, you would use the one that matches nearest to your serial number. Say, for example you had a door latch that had three different versions (series 10, 20 and 30). You would use series 30, as the number is the closest to the beginning two digits in your serial number. If your serial number began with "19", for example, you would use series "10", because the first two digits in your serial number do not exceed "20". If only one series number is listed, or if no series number is listed, it applies to ALL washers under that particular model number regardless of serial number. Confused now? So am I.

Based on the information you've provided, the part number for a replacement latch assembly for your washer is: 22004435.

You can purchase replacement parts at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites on the list also inclide helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying any parts you may need. There are also helpful wiring diagrams included on some sites. Prices vary, so shop and compare.

NOTE: If your model number is not listed on some sites, use the part number from the Sears site as your search criteria. Sometimes certain model numbers do not always appear on parts websites (due to the appliance being too old, recently added model, etc.), but the part numbers generally will, because many parts are interchangeable between model numbers. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
