Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
You replace the lamp in your JVC projection TV and it still will not work. What do you do?
You need to reset the lamp counter to make the unit work properly. Most TVs have a counter which keeps track of the number of hours that the lamp has been on. This is done to allow the TV to be able to give you a heads up as to when the best time is to change the lamp assembly so that it does not explode or fail with catatrosphic results.
Here is the procedure:
Replace the lamp by following the manufacturer's procedure. Make sure that you have not only reinserted the lamp cover, but also screwed it down tightly. If not the lamp detection circuit may cause the unit not to work.
Plug the projector's power cord back into an outlet. The Standby/On indicator of the projector's top panel should light up in red.
Use your remote to press the following buttons, one after another: EXIT, ENTER, HIDE, then the DOWN ARROW. When you press the down arrow, hold the key down for at least two seconds. If you are successful, the Lamp and Standby/On indicators will blink alternately for three seconds, then the projector will return to standby mode.
This will finish the procedure and should allow the unit to work properly.
