How to install Gingerbread or FroYo on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i/a

Step 1: Make sure USB Debugging as Well as Unknown Sources installation is enabled. (Settings->Applications)
Step 2: Install a program called Xrecovery, instructions and download links provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571

Step 3: Find a rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987795
A few great examples include:

  • EW Jet Rom
  • CyanogenMod 6 & 7
  • Blue Sparks Rom

Step 4: Connect your phone via USB, copy the downloaded ZIP from the rom into your sdcard, the main folder, not in any subdirectories.

Step 5: Boot into Xrecovery, do this by tapping the back button on the phone as soon as the "SONY ERICSSON" logo comes on the screen.

Step 6: Using the volume rocker to navigate, go to "install custom zip", then you can find the rom you just downloaded. Install and reboot phone.

How do I jail break my Emerson 749 tablet

You have a tough one Orlanda, as I would normally point you to xda-developers.com to browse the forums for the necessary steps. Even Googling the device brings up little, other than some paid-program that states that it can root your device (oneclickroot.com). Good luck!
