Tip & How-To about Cell Phones

How to Download Music to a Memory Card?

Downloading music onto memory cards allows you to conveniently transport and store your digital audio. Some personal computers come equipped with built-in memory card readers. However, external devices still provide download capability for those who do not own memory card-ready computers. In either case, the drag and drop process allows you to store your favorite music onto memory cards.
Instructions

  1. Insert the memory card into an external memory card reader or device associated with the memory card, such as a PDA.
  2. Connect the external memory card reader or device to your computer using a USB cable. Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the external memory card reader or device. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the computer.
  3. Wait for the computer to recognize the external memory card reader or device. You will access the external memory card reader or device as if it were a drive in your file manager. Skip Steps 1 through 3 and insert the memory card directly into your computer's built-in memory card reader if applicable.
  4. Open the file icon for the memory card reader or device to view its file contents as a folder.
  5. Open the folder containing the digital audio file you wish to download to the memory card.
  6. Drag and drop your desired digital audio file into the memory card reader or device's open file folder.

when i try to download music to my memory card from Vcast, it looks like it's downloading but then at the end it says ''License Acquistion Failure.'' I call Verizon technical assistance and the guy told me that the memory card I have needs to be formatted. However, he told me that all the pictures and videos that are on there would be wiped out when the memory card is formatted. This sounds ridiculous. It should be easy to download music to a memory card & don't think anyone would know that they have to format the memory card. I can dowload some songs to my phone memory, but that is taking up too much space, & sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't. My husband is also having the same problem with his enV3, but he can't dowload music to his memory card or to his phone memory. What can we do? We paid for dowloads we don't even have! The people at Verizon in the store and on the phone are useless!!! Please help!

Right okay. Try the following methods.

Method 1) Take the memory card out and attach it to your computer (if you havent got the right sized card for the computer, get a memory card reader for about £1 otherwise you can do this by plugging your phone into the computer using the cable you got with the phone, sometimes you have to select an option on your phone to allow it to open the memory card, simply read the manual for assistance) and copy all your music, videos etc from it to your computer and format it. (this can be done by going to "My Computer" and right click your memory card icon and select "Format" - this will delete everything but you have already copied it to your computer so you dont have to worry, just copy it all back when it has finished.

Method 2) If you have done the last method and it hasnt worked or you simply dont want to use this options, try downloading the Opera Mobile Browser from getjar.com, open the internet on your phone and goto this address: m.getjar.com and type this code in the box if it asks: 3334 - you will be taken to the place to download Opera web browser. When the download has completed, it will be saved as a game or an application, open Opera Mini Browser that you download and goto the page where you download music (Verizon) and try downloading, sometimes its the phone that doesnt allow you to download, not the memory card.

Method 3)

Plug your memory card into your computer and when it pops up with your memory card, goto www.beemp3.com and download the music you wish to listen to and copy it to the memory card, you now can listen to the music you have downloaded.

Diagnosis:

It seems your memory card is fine, the service that "Verizon" is giving you is not working properly. A license doesnt interfere with your memory card but it does with the website. My best conclusion would be that the site isnt working properly for you and anything you try to do will not work as all your hardware is working properly but the Verizon site isnt allowing you to download, this could be caused by your type of phone, the amount of downloading. It could be millions of reasons so i would recommend arguing the hell with Verizon and saying your memory card is fine (if you can access the files on your memory card, theres nothing wrong with it!!!) and that the service isnt working. If they dont do anything, just do the second method, this will allow you to download ALL the music you could ever want for free and you can just copy it onto your card. - if you need ANY help what so ever, dont hesitate to email me at welcometominex@gmail.com

Hope this helps,

Jake

sciphone 168 wont play music from media player

The Sci Phone is very iffy about reading stuff. It works more efficiently by plugging your phone directly to your computer using the usb plug. The songs must be in the "mp3" folder to play on the equipped audio player.

SLY Electronics Model # sl314cm/Accessing music

It all depends on how you put it onto the player. Go to my computer, SLY, AUDIO, and then copy paste the music you want onto it. If you're downloading the musice off the internet from a place like spiralfrog.com it won't work because the music has no appropiate license.

downloaded music from my computer, all plays fine from memory card and phone memory, but unable to access music player. displays updating then switches phone off, and phone switches back on automatically.Have tried two different memory cards and tried downloading directly onto memory card with usb adaptor.

transferred all my files onto my computer, then proceeded to format the memory card whilst in the phone. transferred all the files back onto the memory card and bingo the music player works fine. Strange that the memory card was from my samsung e900 and worked fine.

downloading pictures onto computer

There are Three primary ways to do this...

1. use a (usualy supplied) data cable... normaly a USB cable... it connects to your computer/laptop , Use a Photo utility program to "find" the camera. You should be able to view the pics stored in the camera.

2. If the camera pics are stored on a sim card then simply put that card in a multi card reader... (very inexpensive to purchase and standard on some late model PC's) and in most cases you can pull the pics directly from the card.

3. Take the camera directly to walmart or walgreen's photo station and they usualy can pull the pics directly from it.

give me some more info and I maybe able to give detailed help...
mod# of camera and what model/make of your PC.
