Tip & How-To about Audio Players & Recorders
This tip is for qualified service persons only. Others will not understand it.
Ok, we've all experienced when a component releases it's black smoke...
Every component that possesses black smoke will not operate properly once it starts allowing it's black smoke to escape.
If you see a component release it's black smoke while you are repairing it, quickly shut off the unit, gather up all the black smoke, and remove the air from it. Put the black smoke back into the component it came from, and reseal the component so the black smoke can no longer escape.
Make sure you get ALL the black smoke, or the component may still not operate at all, or will operate in a degraded or altered state.
Make sure you hold your breath during the entire procedure.
Any black smoke you breathe in will be irretrievable, and therefore missing from the component once the reinsertion is complete.
If you have any questions about the black smoke reinsertion process, don't hesitate to ask - just don't ask at all, because obviously this tip was meant only to brighten the day of my fellow techs.
