How to Change your wallpaper in Windows 7

On your desktop, (this is the screen that you see right after you login to windows) Do a right-click and then left click on Personalization.

Click on the Desktop Background (See Screenshot below)






This will take you to the following window:


Click on the picture you like to be your wallpaper, you also set it as a slide show if you chose a lot of pictures. Plus, you can set it up how the pictures will be positioned and how many minutes before it changes to the next picture.

Once your done, click on Save Changes

To set or change a screen saver in XP

1.

Open Display in Control Panel.

2.

On the Screen Saver tab, under Screen saver, click a screen saver in the list.

FOR WINDOWS VISTA & 7

  1. Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_47.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.

  2. Under Screen saver, in the drop-down list, click the screen saver you want to use.

Click Preview to see what your chosen screen saver will look like.

Click OK.

Also make sure "On resume, display login screen" is unchecked.

Using the "Personalization Panel" Program
notesmall1.png Note This will show you how to download and use the Personalization Panel program to add Personalization to the desktop context menu to be able to change the desktop background, Windows Color and Appearance, Sounds, and Screen Saver in the Windows 7 Starter and Home Basic editions.

This program does not add the desktop slideshow feature though. 1. Download and install the Personalization Panel program

2. When finished installing, you can now right click on the desktop and click on Personalization.

3. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.

I have a Sony vaio laptop with OS of windows 7 Home premium and converted to window 7 ultimate. My problem now the screen is dim and I can't adjust the brightness


1. Click on Start -> Type " Personalization " / Right Click on the desktop Left Click on " Personalize " 2. Under the Personalization window Click on Windows Color 3. Slide the Color Intensity bar to the right ....

how can i change my display settings on my inspirion mini i cant change my screen resolution


Just right click on a BLANK area of screen and select the graphic properities from there

depending on the operating syetem vista and windows 7 will actually offer you the "change resolution" option near the bottom of the pop up when you do that.

my icons no longer appear on my desktop


1.Go to control panel and click on personalization
2.On the left hand column of the 'personalization' screen you will get 'Tasks"
3. Under tasks click on - change desktop icons
4.check on the desktop icons you need.
5. click ok
