How do I check power module and joystick module connections and wiring on my wheelchair?

hi Kathy, sadly there isn't a easy way to do this and you really need someone skilled in working with the powerchairs. This can be a joystick fault however make sure all connections are a tight fit ...
If you're based in the UK please give me a ring as I carry out free testing ...

Shoprider Powerchair has full charge and turns on. Once I touch the joystick it shuts off. No flash code is present. Verified all connections. Replaced joystick, problem still occurs.

Hi , when you say shut off, you mean like it been turned off ? if so check the connector going into the controller , the issue could be with the controller connect, not the joystick end if it's been replaced...

Rob

what does a flashing yellow light mean on the joystick? the light looks like the shape of a wrench.

Hi Judy,

According to Pride's troubleshooting documents the service indicator (wrench icon) will flash when a fault is detected by the dynamic controller.

The number of flashes, followed by a 2 second pause, indicates the issue. You will need to count the flashes to determine the cause and a possible solution.

I have typed the flash codes below, but you can also see them on a larger table here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p3641679-pride_jazzy_614_hd_jazzy_614hd/usermanual-6B42026-pdf

m51 powerchair having controller fault (light flash 7x) is there a reset or something i can try at home to fix?

Nope unless you have another joystick. Try unplugging the joystick cable at the joystick and plugging it back in turn on and see if it makes a difference. If you are still getting the error you will need to have the joystick replaced sorry
