Make USB bootable Windows XP Installation

In my Previous article I discussed how to make USB bootable Windows Vista/7 installation. Here I shall discuss how to make USB Bootable Windows XP Installation. A USB Bootable Windows XP installation is very useful when your Installation CD fails to run, or when your DVD drive is giving you nightmares. Just follow these very simple tips that i have mentioned here to make USB bootable windows XP installation.
What you will need:

  • One USB Drive, 1 GB or more. (2 GB recommended)
  • Windows XP Installation Files
  • WinToFlash software.
Before you wonder what is WinToFlash, let me tell you it is a very useful tool that makes bootable USB drives. You can download it from http://wintoflash.com/download/.
Now once you are ready to go just follow these instructions.

  1. Get your Windows XP installation files and extract them to a specific location.
  2. Once these files are extracted, download the WinToFlash Software from the link given.
  3. Install the software as administrator.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

You need an External CD Rom or a Pen Drive.

If you can get access to a pendrive which is not less than 4 GB storage capacity.

Back up the files before creating a USB-Based Installer.

Download "WintoFlash", you can download it from the link below

can I install a hard drive with out caddy or run the machine from an external drivve?


Yes, you can.
Connect your hard drive and installed the operating system and drivers,
That's it,Connect the hard driver whenever you want to boot from that Hard Drive.and change the BIOS to boot from that hard drive in Hard drive boot priority.

Why not you considered booting from a USB Pen Drive.It's most flexible than booting from an external Hard Drive.
