How to make bootable Windows USB

How many times did your Windows bootable cd get corrupted due to mis-handling?? it is surely a pain in the neck when such a thing happens. When you can choose to boot from a USB drive, why bother using CD's and DVD's. Here are a few simple steps that will help you to boot and install a Windows operating system (Vista and later), from your USB drive.

  • Plugin the USB drive and format it using device defaults option.
  • Press Windows Key + R (Run Option) and type in "%windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s". (without the quotes.)
  • Click on Disk management and right click on your USB drive and select "mark partition as active".
  • Copy setup files to your USB drive.
  • And VOILA u are ready to boot from your USB Drive.

If this method does not work use the lengthy method mentioned earlier.

Many times this error is caused when the computer is attempting to boot from a non-bootable CD-ROM. First verify that no CD is in the computer, unless you are attempting to boot from a CD.

In the Bios of the computer the F2 section that you are talking about what do you see under primary boot device?

You can always use a bootable operating system cd / dvd to boot your computer and reinstall the operating system.

It is possible that the HDD that you have on the desktop is corrupt but if you see the xp screen it is possible that the OS files are corrupt. you can use the recovery CD to fix the problem

Also try tapping F8 when the computer starts and choose Safe mode
if the computer starts then try to run the check disk command - chkdsk /r (for repair option)

The best chance you have to fix your computer is a bootable Operating system CD

my toshiba L500 wont boot up when i turn it on it starts to load files then stops and tries to repair the problem but it does not

There are so many reasons boot up; i.e if system files corrupted by virus or hard disk index tables corruption or hdd partions corruption.

So as a initial trouble shooting try to do following things to resolve problem.

Option 1:

1. Power ON your computer and Press F8 key to have Windows boot menu option

2. Select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and Press Enter
3. When command prompt loaded then type follwing command and press enter

chkdsk /r c:

(If this command is not working in "safe mode with command prompt" then start computer with Bootable CD and Press "R" key when first time asked. It will open recovery console and type this "chkdsk /r "command again to repair disk.)

This command will scan your hdd and repair disk errors.

Unable to reinstall windows xp

try it again with the bootable floppy disk... if you have the option use fdisk /mbr and then format the computer and reinstall using the cd you have. the fdisk /mbr command will get rid of any virus residing in your master boot record.

neck problem

Leaning into your computer or hunching over your workbench just makes its job more difficult. Poor posture certainly contributes to neck pain. Your neck contains bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and nerves, any of which can hurt. Neck pain also may come from regions near your neck, such as your jaw, head and shoulders. Conversely, problems in your neck can make other parts of your body hurt, such as your upper back, shoulders or arms.
