Tip & How-To about Samsung MM-A920 Cellular Phone
We've had these phones for about 3 years and last week my wife's unit LCD screens(both the main screen and the smaller display on the front of the phone) stopped working completely. All you could see was a white screen on both sides of the phone when the unit was in use. We attempted all kinds of ways to reset the phone - in vain - and were getting resigned to buying a new unit.
As a last resort, I attempted to open up the unit to check for false contacts or other low hanging fruit. As you may know, the screws are covered by small black rubber caps in these phones - those caps make the screws "invisible".
Well... I took out the battery, and noticed a relatively large rubber cap. I used a needle to take it out, expecting to find a screw underneath - and... what I found was some sort of totally undocumented "reset switch". I just put the needle through the switch - which has a hole in the middle, as some old laptop "hard reboot" switches used to have - and the phone came back to full life after re-inserting the battery!
Hope this helps....!
