Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Keeping track of photos

If you come to the stage where you have thousands of photos stored in your Pictures folder, even under the most cleverly designed, may not be enough to stop you lose some of your pictures. A support tool for the management software will allow you to attach keywords to images, making them much easier to find.

is there a way to view pictures from my iphone on itunes without my iphone connected

They should be in your iTunes folder. If you open iTunes they will be in the library under photos. If they are not there, you can look for them in the iTunes folder. The location of the folder depends on the operating system you are using. If it is a windows version, look for it in the user file, then open the picture folder. There should be a folder titled iPhone Photo Cache. The easy way to check is to right click on the folder and look for the size. If it is tiny, 30 KB or something, it is empty. If it is large, several MB or even GB, the photos are in there and you can recover them.

how to make a backround/

The background for your desktop screen should be stored in your My Pictures folder.

In otherwords, if you have a background in mind that isn't one of the one's that comes with Windows, find the photo or illustration you want, then copy it to your My Pictures folder.

Having done this, Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.
Go to the bottom of the list, and left-click on Properties.

Now left-click on the Desktop tab.

On the middle right side, click on > Browse.
In the file tree left-click on > My Pictures, then click on the photo, or illustration you want.

{You may have to open the My Pictures folder further to find your photo, or illustration.
In otherwords you may have a folder within the My Pictures folder, and the photo, or illustration is in this particular folder}

In the desktop screen example your photo, or illustration will appear.
If it is not wide enough, go to the middle right, and under the heading > Position, click on the blue down arrow.
(To the right of the box under > Position)

You can click on Stretch, or Center, or Tile.
Look at the desktop screen example, and see if this is what you want.

If you do not like Stretch, for example, click on the blue down arrow, and click on Center.
Then click on the blue down arrow, and click on Tile.

After you have chosen what you want, go below to the right, and click on Apply.
THEN go below to the left, and click on OK.
(You MUST click on Apply, then on OK)

how can I move pics from the software onto my desktop? It seems like the program won't allow me to click and drag a pic to desktop. And if I want a picture to look better, i.e., edited, cropped, etc., I can only do that in shareware. Is it really true that I can either have a nice pic in shareware or a pic on the desktop that I can only edit through the heavy handed paint program?

Usually the Kodak software stores the images on your computer in your "My Pictures" folder which is usually located under your user directory where your personal files are such as "My Documents". Within the "My Pictures" folder, there should be a Kodak folder where your imported pictures are, if not, check through the "My Pictures" folder and see if you can find the imported pictures.

Once you find the pictures you want to edit/use, you can use a free software such as Picasa from Google or you can find a list of some of the best FREE photo editing software from the link below:

I hope this helps! If it does, please be sure to leave me a rating/feedback. I would greatly appreciate it!

Photos don't show

Usually you are not limited in the number of folders you can create. You can have this problem if you are not createing folders to store the pictures in. Make sure ther are no pictures or other files outsde the folders in the root directory. If that does not help, that that drive to a camera store or coptuter shop that can do a data recovery. If there is a corruption in the USB directory then you may get problems like this as well. Reformatting the USB drive might help, but you will need to remove everything from it first.
