How can I restore my PC?

If Windows is running (and you are logged in as administrator), choose Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. Select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and click click the Next.Now last checkpoint and click Next. System Restore message may appear - click OK. Now click Next on the confirmation page and the latest Windows XP configuration is restored. If you can not get Windows XP to start, press [F8] at boot and select "Last Known Good Configuration 'to load the latest Windows XP restore point loaded.

I have aCompaq Presario f700,it turns on normal! As soon as the screen with the Windows logo pops up it won't do nothing else it stays on that screen for as long as the laptop is on...Hopefullyyou can help...Thanks


As soon as your laptop powers on (even before you see anything on the screen), repeatedly tap on F* until it takes you to the advanced boot menu. Choose the option for Last Known Good Configuration and see if it boots. If it doesn't, just restart your pc and repeatedly tap on F8 again to get back to the menu. This time, select Safe Mode. If you're able to boot to safe mode, you can do system restore to restore it to a date when it was last working fine (XP: start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore, Vista/7: start > type system restore on search box).

if u use the windows,then Go To

Start->all programs->accessories->system tools->system restore->restore withe earliar time->choose the restore point->ok->close

how do restore my com. to go back a week


  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts
  3. Or you can go to start search, and type in rstrui.exe and hit enter.
  4. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  5. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

    Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  6. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  7. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
  8. Click OK.

start up problem.....blank screen coming at startup ...after i uninstalled some softwares


Please try to start the Windows in safe mode. Press F8 while booting the computer and When you get the Windows Advance boot menu, select the Safe mode option. Log in to Administrator account.
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Toool > System restore.
Select a restore point when the system was working fine.

let the computer reboot in normal mode.
