Tip & How-To about Dishwashers
This may sound like a reprimand but it is in fact a plea to all dishwasher owners. A dishwasher is not a garbage disposal unit. It cannot handle food particles and bits of fruit etc.
Before putting plates into a dishwasher, make sure that they are scrapped reasonably clean and that nothing like rice, apple pips, bits of vegetables, meat or tooth picks are left on the plates. I know that this sounds like owning a cow and buying your milk in bottles, but all those particles left on plates and pots clog up the pump, the strainers and most of all, the rotating arms.
It means a bit of extra work, but in the long run will save you much grief and aggitation and possibly big bucks.
