want to disable touchpad on my HP Pavilion G7-1277dx

On laptops, sometimes the TouchPad can be disabled for no apparent reason. To reactivate it, first try restarting your PC. If that doesn't help try the following:
  • Go to Control Panel > Mouse > Settings
  • Click Enable (or Disable to disable)

  • On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to activate or deactivate the touchpad. For example, on an ACER machine, press FN + F7
  • You can click "Reset device" if neither of those solutions work
  • The official website provides synaptics drivers and software needed to run your TouchPad

On the latest laptops, there is a special button to enable/disable the TouchPad

I bought a new asus laptop 3 weeks ago, one of the reasons I chose it was the feature of disableing & enableing the mouse pad. (I'm 72 yrs, old & I have bad tremmer. Since I had a heartattack '95.) It worked well for me for about a week, then I had a soft ware problem they couldn't fix. They reprogrammed my ASUS to fix another problem, and since then When I press th FN-F9 buttons they don't set the disable feature any more. The Co. I bought it from is unwilling to reset it for me.
