Tip & How-To about Car Audio & Video

How to find out what the polarity is on a speaker that you cant get too

Say your doing a car install and the speaker wires arent marked with a positive or negative symbol and you cant get to the back of the speakers or/and it would take a lot of extra time to take the doors apart so you can get to the back of the speakers, all you simply have to do is take the two wires coming from the speaker, grab any AA battery and put one wire on the positive side and the other wire on the negative and as your doing this observe the speaker and see if the speaker is sucking in or out.If it flexes out, then that is right and whatever wire is on the positive of the battery is your positive of the speaker and naturally the other one is negative. If the speaker flexes in then that is wrong ,just switch the wires and that will let you know which is which-Have Fun and Always unhook your battery when doing install-Thanks Steve

Here is the installation manual for your particular deck. Click Here. The first thing you should focus is getting the unit to power on. Follow the diagrams and you should be fine. Once you get your deck to power on then you can move on to the speakers. I tried to provide as much info as I can. Let me know if you need anymore help

car front two speakers arent working. rear two are.

have the front speakers ever worked?

if not have they been connected properly?

if yes then
look under ballance and check theat rear and front ballance is in the middle
if it is then for temporarily replace the front speaker with any old speaker
if that works then you need new front speakers
if no then the radio is broken

but what you could do is rewire the back speakers so they also play though the front ones too
this can be done from behind the radio

find the rear right positive and negative wires
strip the insulation but dont cut the copper wire
cut the front right speaker and attach that to the rear speaker wire
do this for both positive and negative

rear right
positive
