Tip & How-To about Cell Phones

How To Fix Your G1 Stuck On The Android Logo

First, if you haven't already tried it, please remove and re-insert the battery.

The following method erases all data from the handset's memory, and sets it back to original factory settings. It does not erase the sim card or the memory card.

There are two ways to perform a Factory Data Reset, also known as a master reset or hard reset. Since we cannot boot into the device, we will perform a hard reset:

  1. The device must be powered OFF to perform this reset.
Note: If the device is not responsive and does not turn off, remove the battery and re-insert it.
  2. Press and hold the Home button (picture of a house on it) and the Power button (the red hang-up button) at the same time.
  3. Keep holding Home and Power together for at least 25 seconds, even if the "Startup" screen appears.
  4. Release the keys when you see a black screen with a warning sign.
  5. Slide the keyboard open.
  6. As a shortcut, press ALT+W to factory reset the device. If this does not work, continue with the below steps.
  7. Press ALT+L.
  8. Press Alt+W for 'wipe data/factory reset'.
  9. Press the Home + Back key.

i am able to send txts but the only ones i can receive are from vodafone. I sent one to myself last night & haven't received it. This problem was discovered when i got a call as i hadn't replied to a txt.

Please check the following steps

* Erase/delete messages and other unused data to preserve your phone memory space and to be able to use your phone without any problems. When your memory is too low,you can not be able to send, received messages and also you can't use the phone features such as taken photos or recording videos.all applications and other stuffs should be stored on memory card.

* try to use another phone and use your simcard, check if the problem is still the same.

* go to settings > master reset > reset all (back up your necessary data before doing this method, everything will be deleted if you continue and your phone will go back to default settings).

Hopimh that this solution will help.

i forgot my phone password

this happens all the time with samsungs. i went to tmobile.com/forums and found some info to fix mine when i forgot mine as well lol. the problem is it will reset your password and all your other information as well :(

A phone lock or security code on most Samsung handsets can be overridden by performing a full reset on the device. This will set the security codes on the handset back to the default eight zero's (00000000).

Important: This reset restores the original factory settings and will erase all downloaded content, including ringtones, images, programs, and contacts stored in the internal memory. It does not erase data stored on the SIM card or memory card (if available). Make sure you have backed up contacts, calendar appointments, and other data before continuing.

1. Power off the handset

2. Remove the battery

3. Remove the SIM card

4. Reinsert battery ONLY

5. Turn handset on

6. At the Insert SIM prompt screen enter the following code: *2767*2878#

NOTE: If using a handset that was released after July 2009 use this code: *2767*3855#

7. The handset should display E2P custom reset

8. Power off handset

9. Reinsert SIM card

10. Power on handset

11. The phone should be unlocked

NOTE: If you didn't get a E2P custom reset or a Full reset message on the handset your Samsung model may need an MCK code. You will have to call technical support for this code. Please have your IMEI number ready to expedite the process for this code. Your IMEI number is located on a label on the back of the phone, under the battery.
