Is your cartridge clogged,,,

Then in the maintenence settings in PRINTERS AND FAXES,, do a deep ink cleaning,,

If that fails then blot the cartridge on a piece of tissue damped with alcohol.. or let the cartridge sit in some rubbing alcohol for a cpl or minutes and then blot it..

As a last resort if the above fails,,, WARNING NOT A CONVENTIONAL METHOD

try boiling the cartridge for a few minutes,, MAKE SURE THE WATER IS BOILING BEFORE U PUT THE CARTRIDGE in.. so to to remove most of the air from the water to prevent corrosion

HP print heads that work with water-based inks can be fixed using a lint-free cloth wetted with luke-warm water. First wipe off all the gunk outside the bottom chip, taking care to NOT touching the chip itself - avoiding to be careful can clog the printhead even more! Then gently dab the printhead on the wet cloth, letting the water sorta slosh around the chip, cleaning the nozzles. You could also let the printhead sit on the cloth for five minutes or so. This will both draw out new ink from the nozzles and dissolve any dried ink that are clogging them.

Be careful NOT TO WIPE OVER THE BOTTOM CHIP, since this most probably will wipe dried ink into the nozzles!

With newer, solvent-based inks, you could use either pure alcohol (NOT ACETONE, THINNER OR ANY PETROLEUM-BASED SOLVENTS!) or isopropanol to do the same thing, and doing an ink cleaning in the driver immediately after this procedure.

However, the best way to avoid the printheads clogging up, is to use the printer regularly and leave it powered on so it can do its own cleaning. Shutting it off after use will speed up the clogging process no matter how you look at it. Also, using HP's own ink systems instead of aftermarket stuff, will give you "peace of mind" since things are always new, HP doesn't refill/reuse their cartridges and printheads. "Always clear, always sharp!" :)

Also, cleaning the contact matrix in the printer's carriage and the carriage itself is a good way to avoid dust and other kinds of debris to enter the printhead nozzles. Do this at least twice a year and you should experience no probs with your printheads.

Hope this helps. This method ought to be appliccable to other brands as well, but I've never tried since I work exclusively with HP printers.

In front of the eye that can see the paper jam is probally a small pc of paper or lint ball. Use a can of compressed air and gently blow it out. You may have to turn it sideways a bit or tilt it forwards or backwards to dislodge what ever is blocking the eye.

I recommend NOT "boiling" any cartridge - - as that can melt/deform the cartridge and/or cartridge components. (I've tried that method with disastrous results). :(

Blotting with alcohol, or soaking in same is much more effective, and damage risk is reduced.

My 2710 All In One keeps giving an error message that the printer cartridges are jammed. Fix the jam and press OK.
But there is no jam and I have even put new cartridges in. Still no fix.
If you know anything I can do to fix the problem please help.

The melting point of most cartridges is less than 100 degrees centigrade, we have watched cartridges curl up and die when placed in boiling water.
1. Try holding print head under a fine stream of hot tap water, which is about 70 to 80 degrees, meanwhile gently massaging gold jet plate with your finger tip, then dab printhead on folded tissue, the first dab soaks up excess water and ink, and then hold printhead on a clean part of tissue for a few seconds, hopefully you will get a oblong patch of ink, put in printer a run a head clean.
2. Soak over night in a few mils of headcleaning solvent, alcohol, or demineralised water.
If this does not work buy a new cartridge.
