How to download mozilla firefox using command prompt

  1. Go to Start > Run > "cmd" and hit OK. This will load the command prompt.
  2. type "ftp" and hit enter.
  3. type "open releases.mozilla.org" and hit enter.
  4. It will ask for a username, type "anonymous" and hit enter.
  5. It will then ask for a password, type "anonymous" and hit enter.
  6. Open the folder with the latest Windows release of Firefox by typing in:
    "cd pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/win32/en-US" and then enter.
  7. View the contents of the current directory by typing in "ls" and then enter.
  8. Switch to binary file mode by typing in "type image" and then hit enter.
  9. Choose the directory to download firefox to by typing "lcd C:\" (Typing this will save it right to the root directory of the C: Drive.
  10. When you typed in "ls" from step 7, it should have listed a .exe file for you. As of writing the latest version is Firefox Setup 3.0.11.exe. In this case, we will type in: get "Firefox Setup 3.0.11.exe" (type in the quotes)
  11. Now go check in your c:/ drive, and you should see the .exe file downloaded.
  12. Type "bye" to exit the FTP mode, and then type "exit" to close out of the Command Prompt.

press Enter. Have your Windows XP CD handy.

cant find my mac address


Assuming this is a Microsoft Windows system...

Click on Start

Then either Run (Windows XP)

Or just type into the dialogue box above the Start button (Windows 7)

Type in: CMD and press Enter

In the black window next to the >

Type in ipconfig /all and press Enter

In the output look for the Physical Address in the 12 character alpha-numeric format of:

xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx

This is the MAC address

Keeps coming up with cannot display this page


Cannot display page can occur due to temporary Internet issues. Try following steps :

Click on Start > Run

> At the run prompt type cmd and then click on OK

> Type command as: ipconfig /release and hit Enter key

> Once the command promt is back Type: ipconfig /renew and hit Enter key

Browse Internet.

If the issue persists, let me know the Ethernet or the Wireless card model and the ISP details

Find mac address on HP pavilion notebook


If you open a command prompt (go to Start, run - type cmd and press ok).

At the prompt type:(there is a space between the g and the forward slash)

ipconfig /all

(you may have to scroll up and down to see all the data)

You will see all your network connections (wired and wireless). Yes, the physical address is your MAC address. Make sure to grab the wireless one.
