i cannot connect to WLAN and have to use ethernet cable to connect to internet. Also my cursor jumps around when typing text

You have asked two separate unrelated questions here. First, we need to know what you have tried to connect wirelessly.
The second problem is probably due to you inadvertently touching the touchpad while typing. This is quite common. I normally solve it by disabling the touchpad and using a wireless mouse. If you don't wish to go the mouse route, practice holding your hands differently so you don't bend your wrists and allow your thumbs to get close to the touchpad when typing.

I have a Micro Innovations wireless mouse and keyboard but no manuals or setup disks - when I hook up the mouse it works fine but I get no response from the keyboard. Is there just the one remote for both pieces and is the lack of response from the keyboard due to lack of drivers? thank you.

There is one receiver unit. Check that you removed the piece of plastic between the battery and terminal in the keyboard. If it still does not work, remove the batteries and put them back. If it still fails, try plugging the receiver into another usb port

mouse wireless wont connect to my laptop

Can you please mention the Wireless mouse type and also the OS version which you are using on the laptop. Mostly it could be a driver related issue or if you are using a Windows XP version, the pnp service may not be detecting the mouse attached to the port. So Its important to know the OS version, and the mouse type which you are using... Good Luck.

When I left click it will double click

There is a possibility that on the windows operating system (control panel/ mouse) the option to double click with a single touch is turned on. I doubt that it is a problem related to the wireless system itself.
