My computer is extreamly slow. I click on a desktop icon and then wait and wait for it to respond. My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows XP

Do a Disk Cleanup and a Defrag of the hard drive to get all the TMP files and Cookies out of the system. You find these under the Accessories tab in XP and then go to System Tools. Then you need to clean the Registry with a registry cleaner. Here is a good free one I use all the time.http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner.
